Abstract: Vice chairman of the Central Committee Zhu Yongxin pointed out in My View on Reading: a person’s spirittual history is his reading history. Reading makes children enter an abstract world of the knowledge, and becomes an important part of their mental development, which is key to the growth as a whole. This paper studies the important role of reading for children from the perspectives of physiology, psychology, sociology, education and library science, with the purpose of providing guidance for children’s reading from diverse angles.
