Abstract: Reading promotion has become the most interesting service in public library. It development is attributed to public’s attention to reading problems, the leading role assumed by Library Society of China, and service innovation of public library. In recent years, the reading promotion of public library presents four trends: reading promotion becomes more frequent; regional difference decreases; all departments within library take shares in reading promotion; and information technology is being widely used in reading promotion.
