Abstract:

Library sometimes cannot get MARC data of electronic resources, and using Excel and Metadata Processing Tool to create MARC data is a feasible solution. The batch cataloging workflow, the skills of using Excel to modify information about electronic resources and the function of the Metadata Processing Tool are elaborated in the paper, which also discusses the necessity of reviewing and modifying records, writing down processing scheme, communicating with database vendors, and improving librarians’skills.
