Analysis of Content, Media and Carrier Type in RDA Based on MARC21

Abstract

Abstract:

FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records)—the conception model of RDA is described in this article. Images are used to illustrate the works family of FRBR, and to reveal the relationship of the first group of entities of FRBR. The cataloguing rules of “content, media and carrier”
when applying RDA is exemplified by English or Chinese cataloguing examples using MARC fields 336, 337, 338 based on MARC21.
