Research, Testing and Assessment of Three Resource Discovery Systems

Abstract

Abstract:

The resource discovery team of Fudan University Library visited eight academic libraries, made a research on the three discovery systems, namely Primo, Summon, and EDS, conducted three internal testing and readers surveys and concluded with a comprehensive assessment from five aspects, including retrieval functions and user interface, the readers assessment, metadata evaluation, resource-integrating products’ features, followup system scalability and maintainability, so as to determine the key factors for selecting discovery system.
