Zhang Jinao, Lu Xinyuan, Guo Yiruo, Cai Xingxing
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 4-14.
    摘要 ( 679 )   PDF(CN)(1683KB) ( 1760 )
The application of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has expanded the scenarios of library knowledge services, while the circulation of data elements has enriched their content. Exploring the synergistic enpowerment of these two forces to enable multisource and crossmodal knowledge service in libraries is of great significance for the paradigm transformation of library knowledge services. Starting from the three core elements of library knowledge service, actors, content, and scenarios, this paper attempts to explore the connotation, models and development pathways of multisource and crossmodal knowledge service in libraries. The findgings indicate that actor collaboration, content digitalintelligent transformation, and scenario personalization are the important connotations, whereas artificial intelligence and data elements are the underlying logic of such service. Multiagent collaboration, multisource datadriven mechanism and multiscenario application form its primary structure. In addition, humanintelligence task division, element circulation and digitalintelligence integration are important pathways to promote the development of multisource and crossmodal knowledge services in libraries. This study is conducive to optimizing the application of AI in library, improving the service level of multisource and crossmodal knowledge services, and providing valuable reference for future research.

Zhang Yiqin, Deng Sanhong, Gong Hongcun, Yang Jie, Liu Liu
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 15-26.
    摘要 ( 533 )   PDF(CN)(6063KB) ( 1900 )
The semantic description and annotation of scientific document images are essential for enhancing knowledge mining and intelligent information management of academic literature. Based on metadata structures and information requirements of academic images, this paper proposes a multilevel semantic description framework for scientific paper images (SDFSLI), aimed at achieving precise semantic parsing of scientific document image content in the context of AI4Science. The framework analyzes scientific document images through four interconnected layers—basic identification layer, content layer, semantic layer, and relationship layer—which examine basic information, visual content, semantic connotation, and hierarchical relationships. This research also establishes a comprehensive ontology model that systematically maps semantic relationships between these framework layers, utilizing multimodal large language models for implementation. Through empirical case studies in library and information science literature, the framework demonstrates its practicality and effectiveness. The paper further discusses key challenges and future opportunities in semantic description of scientific paper images, offering insights into the intelligent development of scientific knowledge management.

Cui Yuhong, Zhao Jintao, Zhang Huan
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 27-36.
    摘要 ( 585 )   PDF(CN)(2471KB) ( 1556 )
The study explores the integration trend of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology and academic search, and comprehensively evaluates the performance of emerging academic search platforms in practical applications, aiming to provide a new pathway for transformation in the field of information retrieval. Four GenAIpowered academic search platforms, Scopus AI, WoS Research Assistant, SciSpace, and Elicit, are selected to construct the evaluation index system on the dimensions of content generation and retrieval generation. The study reveals their differences in terms of literature coverage, generation accuracy and user experience, and further tests the balance between citation recall and precision rate of GenAI. It is found that the four GenAI academic search platforms are smooth and informative in response, but the coverage and precision of the generated content supported by citations need to be further improved. In comparison, Scopus AI performs relatively better in literature coverage, while WoS Research Assistant stands out in terms of precision rate. SciSpace achieves a more balanced performance in crossdisciplinary adaptability, whereas Elicit shows an overall balanced but slightly weaker performance. Although the fluency of these platforms is high, the problem of “information hallucination” still exists, and the accuracy and reliability of the generated content need to be further improved in the future.

Zhang Qiang, Gao Ying, Xin Zhulin, Ren Doudou, Zhou Hong
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 37-47.
    摘要 ( 545 )   PDF(CN)(1482KB) ( 1840 )
This study compares and analyzes the content of archival journal articles generated by AI with those written by scholars, delving into the potential of AI technology in academic writing and its relative advantages and limitations compared to humanauthored works. The research selected 100 highly cited papers from core journals in the field of archival studies over the past three years. The abstracts, introductions, and conclusions were extracted, and corresponding abstracts were generated using six large language models. A systematic analysis was conducted across multiple dimensions, including semantic similarity, topic modeling, classification detection, ROUGE evaluation, and academic publication detection. The results indicate that the abstracts generated by the six models exhibit a high degree of similarity to those written by scholars, with Tongyi Qianwen particularly excelling in topic refinement, producing content that closely aligns with the professional depth of scholars. In terms of classification detection, the Random Forest (RF) and XGBoost models demonstrated outstanding performance. ROUGE evaluation results show that the quality of abstracts generated by large models has reached or even surpassed traditional algorithm levels, with Wenxin Yiyan 4.0 performing especially well. In academic plagiarism detection tests, both GPT4.0 and Tongyi Qianwen met the standards. Tongyi Qianwen shows an extremely low proportion of suspected AIgenerated content in the CNKI AIGC detection. Based on these findings, this study recommends that academic publishing platforms further adapt to the development of new text generation technologies, refine AIGC detection standards, enhance crossplatform collaboration and data sharing, and pay special attention to the detection challenges posed by the Tongyi Qianwen model.

Path Analysis, Model Construction, and Optimization Strategy for Multimodal AIEnabled Immersive Reading Spaces: From the Perspective of Embodied Cognition Theory
    Cai Wenjie, Wang Chenmin
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 54-62.
    摘要 ( 454 )   PDF(CN)(1346KB) ( 1791 )
AI driven digital transformation of public cultural services is transitioning from technological empowerment to cognitiondriven paradigms. However, immersive experiences still face challenges such as insufficient interaction depth and limited cognitive effectiveness. Based on embodied cognition theory, this study examines the embedding mechanisms of multimodal AI in immersive reading spaces and the reconstruction of cognitive pathways, constructing a fiveelement analytical framework of “perceptual input—bodily engagement—contextual coupling—behavioral cognition—meaning generation”. Through case studies of three representative projects at the Shanghai Library East—Marco Polos Journey of Wonders, Encountering Su Dongpo, and The Future of the Future—it distills three embodied cognition models: sensorydriven, behaviordriven, and semanticnesting models. On this basis, it proposes optimization strategies including: constructing a multimodal synesthetic synergy mechanism, deepening natural interaction and behaviordriven narratives, advancing the spatial embedding of cultural semantics, establishing a knowledge cocreation and feedback loop, and connecting individual experiences with collective cultural identity. These strategies aim to facilitate a transformation of public cultural services from technology demonstration to deep cognitive activation, providing theoretical support and methodological references for the practice of public cultural spaces.

    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 82-93.
    摘要 ( 446 )   PDF(CN)(1425KB) ( 1712 )
In the context of culturaltourism integration, cultural walking tours in public libraries, by integrating reading with tourism experiences, have emerged as an innovative approach of reading promotion. This study takes provinciallevel public libraries as the research sample and, through online surveys and questionnaires, presents the current practice of cultural walking tours. Based on user perceptions, a threedimensional evaluation system of “reader experiencelibrary benefitssocial impact” is constructed, and the AHPFCE method is used to quantify the activity effects. The results indicate that these activities, through serialized operations and the activation of regional resources, have significantly enhanced the utilization of library collections, promoted cultural dissemination, and strengthened public cultural identity. The overall implementation of cultural walking tours has been effective. However, the deeplevel development still faces bottlenecks such as an incomplete service supply system, weak participant engagement, and untapped potential in culturaltourism consumption. In the future, efforts should focus on enhancing brand IP development, improving a diversified service supply mechanism, and fostering collaborative innovation in cultural tourism consumption scenarios, so as to promote the highquality development of cultural walking tours.

Song Xiaokang, Li Fen, Zhao Yuxiang, Zhu Qinghua
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 93-106.
    摘要 ( 362 )   PDF(CN)(1641KB) ( 1532 )
This study explores the mechanism through which intergenerational supportrelated factors influence the health literacy of the elderly in the context of surrogate health information seeking, and provides a theoretical reference for cultivating health literacy among the elderly. A configuration analysis framework is formed based on sensemaking theory. Then, the fuzzyset Qualitative Comparative Analysis(fsQCA) method is employed to analyze the configuration path of 331 questionnaires completed by elderly participants. The findings indicate that no single factor necessarily impacts the health literacy of the elderly. Intergenerational support contributes to overall health literacy, as well as functional, interactive, critical, and translational health literacy, with 3, 5, 1, 1, and 7 configuration pathways identified respectively. The empowerment of health literacy of the elderly by intergenerational support is the result of multiple factors. Cultivating health literacy among the elderly requires that children provide both instrumental and emotional support, while also emphasizing the subjective initiative of the elderly in sense making.

Lian Jingwen, Li Xinyue, Zhao Yuxiang, Zhu Qinghua
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 107-119.
    摘要 ( 400 )   PDF(CN)(2166KB) ( 1314 )
Recently, older adults have become a significant user group on short video platforms such as Douyin. However, many older adults face challenges and concerns when using these platforms. Based on affordance theory and technology appropriation theory, this study takes Douyin as the research platform and employs the critical incident technique to conduct semistructured interviews and field observations with 21 older adults. Thematic analysis is then used to analyze the data, exploring the process of older adults use of short video platforms from both a processoriented perspective and the perspective of intrinsic psychological needs. The findings reveal that multiple factors influence older adults appropriation or nonappropriation to short video platforms at various stages. Nonappropriation can be classified into two types: initial resistance and constraints during the interaction stage, while appropriation follows a twostage process: adoption and the fulfillment of psychological needs. Based on these findings, a technological appropriation mechanism model for older adults using short video platforms is developed. The study contributes to research on social media use among older adults, expands the application and scope of affordance and technology appropriation theories, and provides practical insights for designing agefriendly short video platforms and enhancing the digital literacy of older adults.

    Liu Ying, Zhang Li
    Libraly Journal. 2026, 45 (5): 120-128.
    摘要 ( 370 )   PDF(CN)(1163KB) ( 1475 )
Intergenerational programs play an important role in alleviating generational tensions, reshaping intergenerational relationships, and addressing the challenges of population aging. American public libraries intergenerational programs started early and have accumulated rich practical experience. Drawing on these practices, the study adopts a strengthbased perspective to provide a reference for Chinas public libraries in serving both the elderly and children. The study categorizes U.S. intergenerational programs into two types: kinshipbased and nonkinshipbased. It systematically reviews their practices according to service orientation, and uses comparative research and case study methods to analyze representative intergenerational programs in American public libraries. According to the service orientation, these  programs can be divided into three types: intergenerational reading services that focus on reading development, intergenerational interactive services that focus on relationship building, and intergenerational mutual assistance services that focus on skill improvement. Looking ahead, public libraries should pay attention to developing resources for both the elderly and children to create an internal service cycle, strengthen identity recognition to enhance effective interaction between individuals and society, and adopt a collaborative perspective to empower these two groups.
