英国高校图书馆残障服务研究——基于26 所大学的案例分析

摘要:

为残障读者提供服务已成为高校图书馆未来发展的重要方向,英国高校图书馆在残障读者服务方面实践成果显著,值得我国高校图书馆参考与借鉴。文章通过文献调查、网络调查和馆员咨询的方式,对英国的26 所高校图书馆残障读者服务现状进行了分析与归纳。英国高校图书馆主要从物理空间、辅助设备、制度援助和情感支持4 个维度开展残障读者服务。此外,英国图书馆通过开展“ 向日葵挂绳隐性残疾计划” “ 残疾历史月” 、RNIB Bookshare、 LivingPaintings 等创新项目为残障读者提供个性化服务。借鉴英国高校图书馆的服务经验,我国高校图书馆应加强基础设施与馆藏资源建设;建立系统化的残障读者援助制度;推动残障读者服务与技术创新相结合;寻求与行业及外部组织合作;扩大残障读者服务范围;重视残障读者的心理辅导与情感关怀。

Abstract:

Providing tailored library services for users with disabilities has become a crucial area of focusin the development of academic libraries. University libraries in the United Kingdom have madesignificant strides in this regard offering valuable practices that can serve as a model for Chineseinstitutions. Based on literature review online surveys and consultations with library professionals thisstudy analyzes and synthesizes the disability services across 26 UK university libraries. These librariesaddress the needs of disabled users through four key areas physical space assistive technologiesinstitutional support and emotional well-being. Additionally they have pioneered initiatives such as the􀆵Sunflower Lanyard Hidden Disabilities Scheme 􀆵 Disability History Month RNIB Bookshare andLiving Paintings offering personalized services for users with disabilities. Drawing from these practicesChinese university libraries are recommended to enhance infrastructure and collections establishsystematic support systems integrate technological innovations into services collaborate with externalorganizations expand service reach and prioritize psychological and emotional support for disabledusers.
