Abstract:

Jiao Fengxiang’s Collection of Preventing Illness, which can be seen in the local annals of
Xuzhou and literature records of Jiangsu province, has been lost for a long time. The newly found manuscript
is a collection of local anecdotes, and contains peasant uprisings, political gosssips, ghost stories, historic sites,
travelogues, calamities and unusual phenomena, customs of different regions. In the manuscript the author
conveys a sound and positive idea, so the book is of considerable academic values.
