Abstract:

The paper studies the necessity and feasibility of applying industry engineering (IE) to library management,
establishes framework of IE applicable to library management, and discusses the key methods within the framework,
including library process restructuring (based on process analysis), operation optimization (based on motion analysis),
environment design (based on human factors engineering), service management (based on quantity improvement tools),
and space design (based on logistics analysis).
