Changes in the 23rd Edition of the Dewey Decimal  Classification and Its Research

Abstract:

Dewey Decimal Classification has a long history and noble status in the practical work of libraries and information organizations. This paper retells its history of development, and emphatically analyzes many important changes in the 23rd edition. Based on the latest cataloging concepts and new technologies, it summarizes the characteristics of the revised edition, and explores its new trends in the network environment. The results are conducive to grasping the future direction of reform.
