Abstract:

As the earliest and perfect copybook of Yan Zhenqing’s calligraphy, Zhong Yi Tang Tie was compiled and carved first by Liu Yuangang in the eighth year of the Southern Song dynasty(1215). Two years later, it was finished by Gong Rong(1217). It is of great significance to the study of Yan Zhenqing’s calligraphy art. Though the copybook has an intimate relationship with Wenzhou, it has been ignored for a long time. This paper attempts to examine it and comes into a conclusion that Yan Zhenqing’s Copybook Letter of Attorney Written by Myself is authentic.
