Abstract:

Chen Guoshi was a highly knowledgeable Confucian scholar and a book collecter in Quanzhou during the late Qing dynasty. He had more than 20,000 rare books in his collection house named Tian Bai Ge. The life experience of Chen Goushi and his private collection are rarely known by people. This paper makes a comprehensive research on Chen Guoshi, his private collection source, collection feature, collection scattering and losting.
