Abstract: The leafcasting machine, to some extent, helps solve the fundamental challenges in the practice of traditional ancient book restoration techniques, including lengthy repair cycles, high restoration difficulty, low efficiency, shortage of skilled professionals, and scarcity of restoration materials. It can greatly improve the quantity and quality of literature restoration and help achieve large-scale restoration capacity for ancient books. From the perspective of historical and technological development, the invention of leafcasting machine represents a technological revolution in traditional ancient book restoration practices, and signifies a fundamental transformation of traditional craftsmanship through modern science and technology.
