Thirty Years and Three Years: Balancing Librarianship and Information Science with Inclusive Intelligence: Reflectionson the Integrated Development of Library and Information Services at the Shanghai Library

In 2008 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Shanghai Institute of Scientific and Technical Information I wrote Explorations and Reflections on the Integration of Library and Information Services from the perspective of scientific and technical information work. 2025 year marks the 30th anniversary of the merger between the Shanghai Library and the Shanghai Institute of Scientific and Technical Information. From the perspective of librarianship and particularly in light of the five-yearconstruction and three-year operation of the Shanghai Library East Branch this paper attempts to reviewand reflect on the integrated development of library and information services at the Shanghai Library overthe past three decades while also offering some forward-looking thoughts for the future.
