Abstract: Tourism service is one of the reader services in public libraries. The paper summarizes the process of developing tourism service in Japanese public libraries based on service connotation, industry concept, policy guarantee, integration advantages and current situation. It studies the four typical cases of the integration of culture and tourism in public libraries, hoping to start further discussion on the issue.
