Abstract: This paper analyzed the letters to Naito Konan, kept in “Naito Collection”, from the Commercial Press, Laixunge Bookstore, and Quanshou Japanese Library, and furthermore explored Naito’s interactions with the book industry of China, such as borrowing, purchasing, and donating. On the one hand, these dusty letters allow us to further understand some details of the collection of Chinese classical books in Kunin villa owned by Naito Konan. On the other hand, give us a glimpse into the books’publishing and selling approaches between China and Japan of that time.
