Abstract: The poet Li Bai had roamed Jinling many times in his lifetime and wrote numerous poems. Through the digital interpretation of Li Bai’s poems and the exploration of spatial images, the poetic context and cultural impression of the famous historical city can be reproduced. This paper constructs a spatial image analysis framework of geographical names, then performs digital interpretation through location identification, positioning, poetic image analysis, and visualization with ArcMap10.2. It presents the spatial characteristics of Li Bai’s travel in Jinling, and reveals the temporal and spatial changes of the urban cultural boundaries and spatial images.
