Development of Professional Skills of Juvenile Librarians:A Case Study on the Staff of Shanghai Zhabei District Juvenile Library

Abstract:

Juvenile librarians in the new era shall build more skills, not only including traditional ones such as acquisition,
classification, cataloging, circulation and reading services as well as for hosting library events, but also particularly including
various teaching competences, in order to help children to acquire the general knowledge and the essences of the world’s
diverse cultures, and to nuture children’s abilities for lifelong learning and information literacy.
