Research on the Virtual Space Construction of AcademicLibrary’s Makerspace: A Case Study of the IDeATe Makerspacein Carnegie Mellon Univ USA

Abstract

Abstract: This paper made a research on the virtual space construction by academic library for
makerspace in order to provide references for the related researches and practices of domestic academic
libraries. By means of literature study and internet survey, the case was analyzed from three aspects: content
framework, element composition and function positioning. Based on the case study and the reality of China,
this paper put forward some development strategies for domestic academic libraries, including improving
related institutional construction, giving full play to professional advantages and strengthening data
management.
