Abstract: Personal Information Re-finding (PIR) refers to users looking for information that they have ever seen. In recent years, it has gradually become one of the research hotspots in the field of personal information management. This paper systematically summarizes the related literature in foreign countries, and sums up the context-based research on PIR in five aspects: user context, information context, task context, environment context, and information technology context, followed with detailed analysis and discussion. Finally, it summarizes the shortcomings of the current research results and puts forward the future research direction, with a view to providing reference and guidance for the theoretical research and practice exploration of PIR.
