Application of RFID Technology in Shenzhen Library

Abstract

Abstract: Based on the interview with librarians of the RFID project group of the Shenzhen Library,this paper gives a detailed description of the background and origin of the idea of RFID application, as well as the difficulties overcome in terms of lack in experience, funding, and technology so as to realize
automatic management of library. The library pioneers the 24-hour self-help library in the city, and leads the other public libraries to achieve the concept of Shenzhen as ‘The City of Libraries’ by completing the transformation from traditional library to intelligent library. Finally, the paper also looks into the future development of the intelligent library.
