Abstract: 16 well-known large and medium-sized database vendors were investigated by means of questionnaires and interviews. Most famous overseas database vendors but only one domestic vendor (i.e., Tongfang Knowledge Network Technology Co.,Ltd.) were found to have followed COUNTER. Only 4 Chinese database vendors abided by the corresponding domestic standards. Tongfang was also the only one who could provide statistics platform and the log information among the domestic practitioners. The statistical functions should be improved on the part of both Chinese and foreign databases. The statistical indicators of each database were different, and the definitions about the same indicator differed as well. The ideal model of utilization statistics for electronic resource was discussed at the end of the paper.
