Social Service of American Public Library in Digital Age: Interpreting the Survey Report of Pew Research Center’s Library at the Crossroads

Abstract:

Library at the Crossroads is the investigation results of Pew Research Center on the role of American public library in public life and community activities. It releases the related data of public library services: library patrons’ characteristics, access frequency, activities in the library, the situations of using library’s website or mobile App and e-book borrowing, etc. On the basis of investigation results, this report explores the role and influence of public library, and the social services which the public wants the library to offer, which provides the beneficial reference to the future development of public library services.
