Review of the 18th IFLA Interlending and Document Supply (ILDS) Conference

Abstract: The 18th IFLA Interlending and Document Supply (ILDS) Conference, organized by the IFLA Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section (DDRS) and hosted by the ADA University in Baku, Azerbaijan,was held from December 2 to 4, 2024. Under the theme “Global to Local: Diversity and Inclusion in Resource Sharing,” the conference attracted nearly 60 delegates from 23 countries and regions. Centering on resource sharing as the core agenda, participants explored innovative development pathways for interlibrary loan and document delivery services in the digital age, focusing on key areas such as the application of AI and other emerging technologies, optimization of digital collaboration mechanisms, and strategies to bridge the digital divide. The conference highlighted a usercentered approach, advocating for the development of intelligent resourcesharing platforms and the advancement of a professional, collaborative framework for global interlibrary loan and document delivery services.
