Art University Libraries from the Perspective of Future Learning Centers: Development Direction and Role Transformation

Abstract:

This paper explores the approaches of art university libraries in constructing Future LearningCenters. Drawing on a needs assessment involving faculty and students from nine leading art academiesin China the study identifies prominent demands for design and emerging art resources a strong focus onthe application of Al tools an urgent need for multifunctional spatial development and high disciplinaryexpertise requirements for embedded services. By analyzing global trends in art and design universitylibraries it emphasizes the need to build specialized art information resource systems smart servicesystems comprehensive learning spaces and resource-sharing alliances. Using the Guangzhou Academyof Fine Arts Library as an example the paper proposes advancing the construction of Future LearningCenters through four dimensions art resource centers learning centers innovation technology centersand professional support service centers.
