Research on the Scene Construction and Operation Mode of Public Library A Case Study of Heping Library, Shanghai Hongkou District Library

Abstract:

The thoughtful construction of reading scenes in public libraries can create a pleasant readingatmosphere and give readers a better reading experience. On April 23 2024 Heping Library the first24-hour city park library in Shanghai officially opened. Based on the core elements of person-objectscenarioin scene theory the paper subdivides the scenes according to the reader types and needs andconstructs multiple scenes from the aspects of spatial facilities the library + park model 24-hourservice and reading promotion activities. The paper also expounds the construction process of HepingLibrary‘s scene-based mode and further explores how public libraries can build reading scenes aligningwith readers’ portraits spatial planning and readers‘ actual reading needs through the practice of sceneoperation so as to contribute to the development of urban public cultural ecosystem.
