Twenty Years of Theoretical Research on Reading Promotionin China: A Global Perspective and Historical Comparison

Abstract:

The Reading Promotion Committee of the Library Society of China has promoted thedevelopment of reading promotion theory and research by compiling a series of reading promotion books,establishing a dedicated theory research group, and setting up a research fund. It has made a number ofinfluential academic achievements in the basic theories of reading promotion, service and management,and reading behavior research. Looking ahead, further efforts can be made to clarify the basic concepts ofreading promotion, explore reading behavior through the lens of library science, and gradually promotethe evidence-based practices.
