Abstract: Based on the author’s own years of practical experience as a knowledge service librarian in the
Chinese Academy of Sciences, this paper discusses the initial mission of professional knowledge service,
the construction of knowledge service methodology in subject fields, the cultivation of user awareness and
problem awareness, and the improvement of diversified academic output. It aims to provide reference for the
career development of knowledge service librarian and development and practice of library theory in China.
