Abstract: In June 2018, the Review and Prospects: International Academic Seminar on Arrangement and Study of Literature in the Republic of China Period was held again at the Shanghai Normal University. The seminar focuses on the current situation and development trend of documents arrangement and study of the Republic of China period, and summarizes the research characteristics from aspects of protection plan, primary protection, documents arrangement and publication, collection and research of thematic document, collections kept in institutions home and abroad, and database construction. The development trend is identified as “the publication of photocopying and digitalization”, “digital humanities and technology support”, and “inter-library cooperation and mutual benefits”. It also points out the room for improvement in terms of original protection technology, the scope of research on overseas collections, the depth of research on relevant foreign literature, and collaboration among scholars and the related institutions.
