Commentary on Korean Literature of “Real-Learning Study of Shang Shu”

Abstract: Closely related with the Korean Shixue (or real-learning) school is one type of Korean literature on the study of Shang Shu, which include over 40 kinds of books or writings by Piao Shitang, Li Hengxiang, Li Yi, Wei Bogui, Huang Yinxi, Piao Zhiyuan, Hong Darong, and Ding Ruoyong. These works are characterized by the combination of the study on Shang Shu with real-learning, a break-through of the binding of the Neo-Confucianism and an expansion into new dimensions. An exploration of these literature will enable us to conduct the studies on Korean Confucianism, real learning and textual criticism toward further depth.
