Abstract:

The big data era makes the library and Information Science (LIS) professional education focus increasingly on digital management. In this paper, we study the digital management programs in 30 universities through the official website of the LIS schools (based on the ranking of LIS major). The analysis
reveals obvious differences in the training objectives, training mode, project type and curricula setting in the digital management education of the two countries. Overall, the authors find the digital management education in China is lagging behind the United States. Aiming at narrowing the existing gap, we put forward some suggestions in the aforementioned four aspects.
