Practice of Academic Information Literacy in Graduate Literature Retrieval Class: Based on Quality Control Circle

Abstract:

Based on the idea of quality control circle, the topic for retrieval course was determined in a graduate academic information literacy class. A questionnaire survey was used to understand the level of students’ academic information literacy, and causes of such literacy skills were explored. Furthermore,AHP method was applied to allocate teaching time and tasks, and training approaches were developed.After a round of quality control circle practice, the measurable index of academic information literacy improved by 12.8%. Accordingly, the standardized system of literature retrieval class for graduate students was summarized, and provides a basis for further practices.
