Reflections on Environmental Literacy Education by Academic Libraries

Abstract:

This paper analyzes the status of research and practice, the necessity and feasibility, and specific ways and suggestions for carrying out environmental literacy education (ELE) in academic libraries. Librarians and users are required to undergo ELE, and ELE is divided into explicit and implicit
types, with the latter being the main method. Implicit EIE includes actively supporting environmental science curriculum and research, providing a wealth of resources and information commons, green practice services, various forms of environmental education activities, platform establishment for users and the
introduction of continuously updated environmental education column.
