Abstract: Wang Zhongmin had sorted and compiled Catalogue des Collections Pelliot A et B at the National Library of France from 1935 to 1939, during which Wang had written to Paul Pelliot to discuss the style and compilation methods of catalogue. The letters, 11 in all, collected in Pelliot’s archives No.Pel.D38 of Musée Guimet, Paris, are not made public so far. By textual criticism and explanation, we can reveal the compilation process of Catalogue des Collections Pelliot A et B, which contains Wang’s life,his cataloguing methodology and important materials. Meanwhile, this textual research offers scholars materials on the specific exchanges between Pelliot and Wang and the academic communication between France and China.
