Abstract:

This paper first introduces the traditional acquisition model of university libraries, and then
studies the new user-driven model, where users include readers and subject librarians alike. Regarding
readers, PDA is highlighted, whereas for subject librarians, the new model tracks the bibliographic records
they use for acquisition criteria. It concludes with the advantages of such model and corresponding strategy
for application.
