摘要：

图书引文索引（BKCI）是Web of Science平台的新产品，它的出现弥补了长期以来对图书进行
文献计量评价的不足。BKCI具有衡量图书价值、协助揭示馆藏、保持各知识载体相互联系的完整性和
协助科研等作用，但同时也存在书语种分布不平衡、回溯年限短和收录图书品种少等不足。

Abstract:

As a new product of Web of Science platform, Book Citation Index (BKCI) makes up for the
lack of bibliometric evaluation for books. BKCI can assist to evaluate books, identify the connection among
different knowledge media, and facilitate academic researches. In the meantime, however, it suffers from
problems such as the uneven distribution of different languages, short time span of back files and the limited
number of titles included.
