摘要：

根据用户需求提供服务是图书馆发展的根本性潮流。以民族志方法研究用户是深度理解用户需求的有效方法，国外40多家图书馆做了相关实践，并产生了一定效果。本文通过描述上海大学图书馆运用民族志方法调查新生学术行为的过程、发现与结论，尝试将该方法在高校图书馆的运用予以本土化，同时探索图书馆服务与本校用户需求融合的途径。

Abstract:

Providing services based on users’ needs is a fundamental development strategy for library.Ethnographic method is an effective method to this end, and more than 40 overseas libraries have made relevant practices that led to certain results. By describing the process, findings and conclusions of a study
which applyies ethnographic methods to studying freshmen’s academic behaviors in Shanghai University,we try to localize the use of ethnographic methods in university library and explore ways for the integration of the library services with the users’ needs.
