Abstract: The development of information resources is the foundation of think tank research. Information resources of some famous think tanks in foreign countries have developed completely, thus it’s of great significance to analyze their experience. Through the investigation and case analysis of the official websites and relevant literature of foreign famous think tanks, the paper summarizes the practices and strategies of information resource development of foreign famous think tanks. Foreign famous think tanks mainly develop information resources by building their own collection resources, establishing knowledge release and query platform, constructing special database or knowledge base, and establishing various information source channels. The enlightenment to think tanks in China mainly includes taking research projects as guidance, establishing all-round information source channels, fully building and accumulating their own information resources, and actively promoting information resource sharing.
