Abstract:

Under the backgroud of construction of international metropolis, Shanghai district public libraries should not be restricted by the traditional and established administrative division, but become “reader-centered” to develop into the best library. Both “big and powerful” and “small and specialized” pattens are ok. The key is to accommodate the needs of the time and region, to foster different competitive advantages and to provide fast, deep, accurate and considerate service for readers. It will then enjoy “good life” with readers together and promote the society development.
