Threshold Concepts: Constructing the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education in the United States

Abstract:

The threshold concepts approach is a new pedagogical theory being used by ACRL to construct the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. This paper presents an brief introduction to its definition, criteria and application in libraries, discusses the impact, explores the 6 threshold concepts,correlate abilities and depositions presented in the new framework, so as to provide a new perspective forinformation literacy improvement in Chinese universities.
