Comparative Study of Altmetrics Tools

Abstract

Abstract:

Altmetrics is a new approach of measuring the impact of scholarly research. This paper explores comparative study of fours altmetrics tools that are ImpactStory, Altmetric. com, Plum Analytics, PLOS. Authors elaborate characteristics these tools from metrics category, diverse research output and openness and so on. In addition this paper summarizes the strengths and weaknesses of these tools. Finally, authors discuss how the library conduct related services using Altmetrics tools.
