Innovation of User Training by Academic Library: Based on the Survey in Library of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

Abstract: The development of ICT and the change of user demands for information have posed new missions and to user training in academic libraries. Based on a comprehensive questionnaire of Chinese Academy of Science university libraries and a survey on the Internet regarding some other libraries, this paper summarizes the shortcomings of user training in academic libraries at present in terms of training content, training methods, ambience, and practical operation. Itthen concludes by proposing innovations in concepts, methods and content for user training.
