An Analysis on the Block-Printing Patterns of Shao Si’s Xing Jie in Yanmen During the Northern Song Dynasty

Abstract:

This paper makes an analysis of the technology of woodblock printing, block-printing font, book binding style as well as its functional structure, and demonstrates the initial feature of transferring from the imitation of Ouyang Style and handwritten form to printing font in Northern Song dynasty. It further reveals the cultural inheritance relationship between the Tang and Song dynasty, as well as the development of block-printed books during the Northern Song dynasty.
