Abstract:

Some common problems, such as the incomplete cataloguing rules for traditional characters, the lack of
experience on the part of some cataloguers, and the incapacity of some systems to convert between traditional and
simplified Chinese characters, have led to oversights and omissions in the cataloguing of Chinese books published in
Hong Kong and Taiwan. The paper explores the issue from three perspectives, namely, the uniform titles of translated
works, the information linkage of relevant documents, and the mutual reference of subtitles in traditional and simplified
characters.
