The Application of Semantic Query Expansion in Knowledge Base of Virtual Reference System: Shanghai Library as an Example

Abstract

Abstract:

The article proposes the application of semantic query expansion techniques to retrieval in virtual
reference system. It reviews relevant approaches regarding semantic query expansion, presents a new method
based on thesaurus, discusses the key techniques involved, and verifies its effectiveness by experiments with
the knowledge base of the Shanghai Library’s virtual reference system.
