Reference service is a complex library service and an in-depth one for reading promotion. This article provides a detailed introduction to a form-based reference service (book matchmaking service) conducted by the Wilson Library of the University of Minnesota, and elaborates on form contents, service processes, and performance evaluation and other aspects of the project. Finally, it summarizes three inspirations for academic libraries in China.
