美国DCL电子书服务模式实践探索

摘要：

数字图书的问世带来了全世界出版业的深刻变革，公共图书馆为读者提供电子书服务正经历困难和挑战，电子书的下载带来了一系列技术、法律方面的问题。本文着眼于美国市场，介绍了在面对读者日益增长的阅读需求与电子书供应方屡加限制的供需矛盾下，美国道格拉斯县图书馆大胆尝试、积极探索，自主进行电子书平台构建、开辟新商业模式与服务模式的创新方案。这些实践为我国图书馆开展电子书服务提供了参考和借鉴。

Abstract:

The advent of digital books has brought profound changes to publishing industry in the world.Public libraries are experiencing difficulties and challenges in providing e-book services for readers,whereas ebook downloads have led to a variety of technical and legal problems. Focusing on the US market, this paper analyzes the innovative solutions in building a new e-book platform and business model through a series of attempts and exploration by Douglas County Library, who has been facing the conflict between the growing demands of readers and the frequent restrictions from vendors. These practices will provide reference for the development of e-lending service of Chinese public libraries.
