摘要：

由于517字段著录内容的宽泛性和编目人员对517字段定义的片面理解，导致517字段的滥用现象。根据517字段本身的定义并结合5—相关题名块的规定，517字段著录的题名应该是有检索意义、与正题名不同、非特定类型的其他不同题名，并且所描述的对象是在编文献。

Abstract:

The broad content of the description of the 517 field and cataloguers’ narrow understanding of its definition have led to its misuse. According to the definition of 517 field itself and combining the rules of 5- related title block, the title of 517 field should have the function of retrieval, differ from proper title,be unspecific type, and describe the cataloguing literature.
