Abstract: Based on analysis of the features of map collections and related management work in Wuhan University Library, this paper introduces the requirements and technical architecture of map management and service system, and explains the implementation of key functional modules in detail. The key problems solved by the system are the map customized cataloging, map retrieval and location-based data statistics. It has enabled the full process management and information issue of map collections in Wuhan University, and has given a system solution to those libraries with special collections.
