Abstract: The Yongle Canon is a national treasure and has important documentary value for compiling ancient books, but unfortunately only four out of ten-thousand of the Yongle Canon survive and are scattered all over the world. In 2020, two volumes suddenly appeared at an auction in France, and were auctioned by a Chinese person who spent huge funds, they finally overcame the impact of COVID-19 and were returning to China smoothly. This process has attracted attention from both domestic and abroad. This article attempts to sort out the two volumes of Yongle Canon’s appearance, return process, shape, special features and quotations, so as to reveal the overview of the two volumes of the Yongle Canon for the world.
